We started FreeLnc for people who earn well enough, work hard, and still feel unsure about where their money is going — and what to do next.
FreeLnc began with a simple observation: most people are not bad with money, they are busy. Salaries arrive, bills leave, a few good intentions about saving get lost somewhere in the middle, and the bigger questions — retirement, a child’s education, a home, an emergency — keep getting pushed to next year.
Traditional financial services rarely help with that middle ground. Product sellers want to talk about policies and funds before they understand your monthly cash flow. Online tools give you charts but not judgement. We wanted something in between: a calm, independent planning studio that starts with your real numbers and ends with a plan you can actually follow.
Today our planners work with salaried professionals, freelancers, couples combining finances for the first time, young families and people approaching retirement. The details differ, but the method does not. We listen first, organise everything into one clear money map, write a prioritised plan in plain language and then stay beside you while you put it into practice.
We are deliberately small. That means you speak to the same planner every time, your questions get answered by someone who knows your situation, and we never need to hit a sales target to keep the lights on.
We are paid by you, not by product providers. Recommendations are judged only on whether they help your plan.
Fees, assumptions and trade-offs are written down. If a number in your plan is an estimate, we say so.
No acronyms without explanation. If you cannot explain your plan to a friend, we have not finished our job.
Your financial life is private. Information is collected only when needed and protected carefully.
Real progress is built over quarters and years. We plan for steady habits, not dramatic overnight changes.
You make the decisions. We bring structure, research and a second pair of eyes to every choice.
Our clients have one thing in common: they want to stop guessing. Whether you are organising a first salary or preparing to stop work altogether, the planning process adapts to your stage of life.
Turning a good income into real savings instead of lifestyle creep.
Smoothing irregular income, setting aside tax and building a buffer.
Agreeing shared goals, joint budgets and fair contributions.
Balancing childcare, education savings, protection and a home.
Checking readiness, closing gaps and planning retirement income.
Separating business and personal money and paying yourself well.
These principles shape every plan we write. They are not rigid rules — every household is different — but they are the defaults we start from and the questions we ask before suggesting anything else.
Before investments, insurance or retirement projections, we need to know what comes in and what goes out each month. Every other decision rests on that foundation, so it is the first thing we map together.
A cushion of several months of essential costs protects every other goal. Without it, a single surprise bill can force you into expensive debt or into selling investments at the wrong time.
High-interest balances quietly undo the progress you make elsewhere. We prioritise clearing them with a repayment order you can sustain, not one that collapses after two months.
A low-cost, diversified approach you understand is worth more than a complicated strategy you cannot explain. We favour plans with few moving parts.
Job changes, new babies, illness and family obligations happen. Every plan includes a review rhythm and room to adjust without starting over.
Start with a no-obligation discovery conversation. We’ll tell you honestly whether we can help.
