FAQ

Answers to the Questions People Ask Before They Start.

Clear answers about how financial planning with FreeLnc works, what it costs and how we protect your information.

Getting Started

We spend around 45 minutes understanding your situation, goals and concerns. There is no charge and no obligation. At the end we will tell you honestly whether we can help and which service would make the most difference.

Nothing for the first call. If you go ahead, we send a short checklist covering recent bank statements, payslips or income records, loan statements, savings and investment summaries and any insurance policies.

Yes. Most planning sessions take place by video call, which makes it easy to share screens and documents. In-person meetings are available by appointment.

We encourage it. Shared finances work best when both people understand and agree with the plan, and sessions are a good place to have those conversations calmly.

Most clients feel more in control within the first month, simply from seeing everything in one place. Measurable progress — debt falling, savings growing — usually shows within the first quarter.

Fees & Independence

We charge a fee for planning work, agreed in writing before we start. The fee depends on the service and complexity, and you will always know the cost in advance. There are no hidden charges.

No. We do not sell financial products or receive commissions from providers. Our only income comes from the fees our clients pay us, which keeps our recommendations independent.

Yes. The discovery conversation is free and carries no obligation. If we do not think we are the right fit, we will say so and, where possible, suggest where else to look.

Tell us. We will try to put it right. Our Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how fees are handled if you decide to stop before work is complete.

Privacy & Working Together

Documents are shared through secure channels, stored with access controls and used only to prepare your plan. We never sell or share your information with lenders, product providers or marketers. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

No. We never ask for passwords, PINs or login details. Statements you download and share are all we need, and you stay in full control of every account.

No. You remain in control and carry out every action yourself. We explain each step and are available to answer questions along the way.

Yes. Ongoing coaching can be paused or ended with notice as described in our terms. Your plan documents remain yours to keep.

No. We cover personal finance planning and will tell you when a question needs a qualified tax adviser or lawyer. We are happy to work alongside them.
